FWIW, my 72 had a partial VIN  the engine block and transmission. While there are no other VIN locations, there are many date stamped parts.  This includes the frame, body panels and other parts. These parts are usually within a few weeks of the car build date.

My car for example was built March 29th 1972 and most of the parts Ihave found with date stamps are March 1972. In fact many are within 10 days of the assembly date.

yup only 4 places for the VIN on our cars as Johnny said.

printed on door jamb sticker, riveted tag on removable metal part of the dash pad and the last 6 digits(sequence #) are stamped on both of those tabs that are part of the original firewall stamped steel piece.

I have never seen ANY VIN numbers anywhere else on these cars, frames or even the engines.

there is a riveted tag on the metal dash cover on the drivers side front (removes with the dash pad)  there is a hidden vin tag like in the pic as well and a vin sticker in the drivers door jamb
