i usually don't but occasionally you get one that leaks Confused put a small bead inside the bottom of the rubber where the glass goes and maybe up each side an inch or two, then put it on the glass, then soap and rope it in!

Well, the vinyl top got installed last weekend. Starting to re-install the weatherstrips and glass. Does anybody use a sealer on the backglass gasket? There was none when I took the glass out, but when I installed the back glass on the wife's 67 Mustang I didnt use any. It has the same type of gasket and it leaks. Hoping to avoid the same thing on this car.

Im planning on using the rope-in-the-gasket trick again. Worked well on the Mustang. Just wondering about any sealer.

As always..thanks for the input.

Allen

Oh, for those looking for vinyl tops I'll give a shout-out to SMS Auto Fabrics. The vinyl top was spot on. Exact match and the upholsterer said it was an easy install.
