There seems to be a really problem getting motor mounts for these cars these days. With these Torinos the mounts should be different left to right, because they mount directly over the front crossmember. They tilt the engine backwards, so the left and right need to be "mirror images" of one another.
A quick check of the '73 to '79 parts catalog shows that the 351W and 351C using the same motor mount part numbers. The most updated Ford part number in the catalog was D70Z 6038-C (RH) D70Z 6038-D (LH). Maybe using the OEM part number you might be able to cross reference the correct aftermarket parts? Of course the 351M, used a different part number (same as 400).

call Summit (and Rockauto) and tell them to get their collective head out of their collective Summit description "Motor Mount, Bolt-In, Fits Various Sides Depending on Applications, Ford, Mercury, 302, 351C, 351M, 351W, 400M, Each" 351C and 351W mounts for any particular car are the same, but different from 351M and 400. the only way Anchor 2370 and 2371 will "Various Sides Depending on Applications" is if the engine is mounted and pitched backwards a correctly manufactured and boxed Anchor 2371 mount fits the Left side, and you need a correctly manufactured and boxed Anchor 2370 for the Right side notice the DEA/Marmon and Pioneer listings suggest universal fitment side to side, not if they're the same mount as the part numbers would suggest as the Anchor and Westar brands! and why would there be 2 different part numbers if they're universal side to side fit? there wouldn't be 2 different part numbers would there? NO! they'd only need 1 part number if the mount fit both sides Edited by 72FordGTS - 29-September-2019 at 2:18PM |

I bought these Anchor Industries mounts for the 351 Windsor that I'm putting into my 76 Torino - https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ani-2371.
All the research I've done says that these mounts are not side specific, so I purchased a pair of the same part number. Most of my experience has been with the 351 C and 351 M/400 mounts. Does anyone know which way these bolt to the block of the Windsor? I can't seem to find a picture of this online. I know it will only bolt one way to the engine, but I prefer to not bolt it on the wrong way only to drop the engine in for installation and find that I bolted them on backwards... Also, does anyone know what the torque spec is for the bolts that thread into the block? The Haynes manual literally says "Install new mounts on the engine, making sure that the bolts are tightened to the proper torque." Which is not helpful in the slightest.
