This was actually helpful for me too, thanks! I had the old drums and shoes but the measured depth was misleading as it was just under 2.5. I verified with my backing plate that I had 2" (which matched the shoes but wanted to make sure it wasn't the wrong shoes...)
James, did you go with any particular drum? The old ones I have installed are finned, but from what I can find, almost all 10"x2" drums don't have fins , and I'd like to keep the fins. The ones that are finned are very generic and say "for 10 inch drums". Since the depth measurement seems too large, I'm hesitant to buy them. One of the brands did have a Ford part# which confirmed it was a 2-3/4" from the factory. I'm also not getting any cross references for my current drums but I swear I can still make out a fomoco stamp!

No problem, I am glad the info helped. I figured they were 2" drums.

You are my hero! I followed the link you provided and on the passenger side I found another code "KH 71035". Its a 2". May not be the news I wanted to hear but glad it is figured out.

Is there a Ford part number stamped on it somewhere?
A 2" drum has these backing plates: C90Z 2211-B C90Z 2212-B (right, left) The 2.5" drum has these backing plates: C90Z 2211-A C90Z 2212-A (right, left) Here is a pic of the 2" backing plate: See more pics here: This theard has some info on the differences between the backing plates: |

Hey everyone,
I am trying to figure out if I have the 2 or 2.5 rear drum back plate. The car did not come with the drums or shoes. Backing plate is stamped ford Bendix 323369. Car is an M code GT. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
~James |
