Hello all,
Anyone know how to remove the emblem insert from one emblem and glue it to another emblem? See picture |

You would be better off buying a new repop piece.

The old one will most likely be destroyed trying to pry it out.

I don't mind destroying the donor emblem to get the insert. High heat will not help?

oh ok i couldn't remember exactly what you did
you could try heat but i wouldn't get it too hot it could melt the emblem but some heat from the back side might work??? |

The one I bought from Joe had no emblem but plenty of the factory glue. Took a while to remove it since it was rock hard.

Try drilling a hole in the backand pushing it out. Better yet , if replacing, use a dremel and cut the plastic in half then pop it out with a screwdriver

Update started removing the paint. The easy part is done, now the hard part starts. I will need to buff the front before painting.

The guy in the video sounds like Bigfoot it is. From the Stern show.
The emblems cane out nice. Are you using the candy apple red spray paint too?

What does the back of your emblem look like? What did you scrape off the paint with?

Q-tips, Isopropyl alchohol, and a sharp exacto knife. Didn't take a picture of mine from the back but found one on ebay. |

Ok just did the first stage of polishing
can't tell from the picture but it is like glass. Ok I was thinking of painting the crown candy apple red, the lions/cougars will stay gold and the outer will be glossy black. Thoughts comments?

Silicone works well. Just clean it good with alcohol or thinner.
