Do your seatbelt retractors have an electrical connector for the seat belt warning light? I am not sure off the top of my head how the 71 system works, but in 72 there are connectors to the retractors and seats. When someone sits in the seat, it will buzz until the belt is pull out.

no electrical connectors that I could see. I actually took the covers off just to clean debris. In our 71 there is no buzzing noise.
I just compared the 72 interior to the 71 and it looks to me they upgraded it that year. The dash and seats are different. The 72 is a beauty! Respectfully, Josh

We don't have a 1971 wiring diagram but we do have a 1970 which might be close enough to figure out the issue. You can download it from this thread:
