The 302 diameter is slightly smaller, I've seen sleeves made to let the 302 cam synchronizer from 96-01 Explorers go into a 351W.

Curious on the 302 housing being smaller...
We used to swap oil pump, pump drive, and distributor form 351W into 302/289 engines for durability.
Don't remember housings having a fitment issue...

the distibutor from a 429/460 engine is the same as well.

Yes, the distributor is the same for a 351C and the 400/351M engines.

The Windsor is also the same except for the cam gear on the bottom.

Just wondering if the dist assembly from a 351M is swapable with a dist from a 351C......1974 Vintage.
