Just wondering if the dist assembly from a 351M is swapable with a dist from a 351C......1974 Vintage.

Yes, the distributor is the same for a 351C and the 400/351M engines. The Windsor is also the same except for the cam gear on the bottom.

Curious on the 302 housing being smaller... We used to swap oil pump, pump drive, and distributor form 351W into 302/289 engines for durability. Don't remember housings having a fitment issue...

The 302 diameter is slightly smaller, I've seen sleeves made to let the 302 cam synchronizer from 96-01 Explorers go into a 351W.
