Been trying to search it but coming up empty handed...did they offer cruise control in ‘73? I’ve got some ideas to add it, just wasn’t sure if there’s a plug and play alternative...

Yea, I’ve been poking around here and on the interwebs but not really coming up with anything concrete...

The engines are virtually the same from the 72 through the similar model years. You can swap the later parts onto the early years, the engine CID will vary a couple of parts I'm sure.

Was thinking it’s possible to retrofit, as long as the columns are the same. Will need to be able to put the circuitry in for the steering wheel buttons. If that doesn’t work, I might try to rob the buttons out of the same vintage steering wheel, and relocate them with a custom panel (I’ve got a 3-D printer, so the sky’s the limit, lol). The rest of the stuff to make it work, will be pretty easy.

I agree, that's a simple swap basically.

I'm headed on a longer path, with a 93 Explorer steering column, and Explorer 302 engine system(all wiring and CC too).

yeah the owner of that 170 acre yard passed away 2 years agoCry his son in law is in charge of it now and logged a bunch of timber there and is having all the cars hauled and crushedOuch i wanted to get more parts from there but being an hour away and super busy i just haven't had time to go back up thereCry or the extra time to go back to another similar stash i found an hour the other direction either to search for holy grail wheel trimWink that guy passed away and his widow don't know what that stuff is so she enlisted the help of a neighbor who is a car guy to help sell off stuff...
