You could still get the 3-speed in 1974, on the 302-2V and likely on the 250 six when it was reintroduced partway through the model year.  1975, it the 351-2V was the smallest engine which was automatic only.

RUG-BG2 was the last of the 4spd toploaders in 1973


the 3spd page doesn't show anything after 1972
