I’m missing the radiator from my ‘72 wagon with 351w/FMX transmission. I was thinking I’d make more power either rebuilding or buying a crate engine. I found this radiator for a 429 auto on EBay. Price seems high. Thoughts?

Buy a new one on Rock Auto. Used radiators are not something I would trust, especially for that price.

Not to hack up your radiator rebuild. OSC Companies offers a radiator for the 72-76 Torino 3 core.
More importantly - to properly cool you have to consider more than just your radiator.

Are you running a fixed race fan? flex fan? OE?
Do you have a fan clutch?
Do you have a thermostat if so what's it opening up at?
What is your intent for the 351? Are you going to be running a stock water pump and stock oil cooler on the FMX?

I would consider adding a simple OSC 3 row radiator - sells on rockauto cheaply.
Add a PowerPack in front of it from Derale Cooling w/ a PWM. Pulse Width Modulator and control your temperature on demand for your conditions.

If you want a simpler set up please advise - I'm just recommending ways where you take mechanical strain off the motor - dump the fan clutch, fan blade, add clearance and efficiency to maintain your engine cool.

I just bought a rebuilt 2 core radiator, fan shroud, 17118 Derale fan and 2710 fan clutch. I don’t know what temp thermostat to run. Goal at the moment is to make the stock engine run. After that I’ll save for a 351w crate engine from ATK making 385hp and 410 lb ft.
