:whistling:

I got a ton apart the past few days.. Amazing how much trim there is..

Oh. the Landau is STAYING. The roof panel is not finished at ALL under the padding, and they used large fiberglass panels to hide the openings for the various side glass types available (TBirds had a different side glass). For me it was an either or thing, so yeah... it's staying.

I had never seen one with the taillights off. They really did change the bodystyling in the back!

I've never been good at putting trim parts back on - I just don't have that finesse. Looking at that pile of trim parts stressed me out.

I find those front tires most interesting, what brand are they and are they still available and in sizes? I really like the tread design.

Spun the car around, and detrimmed the drivers side.

22" = $. I'll see what I have for a budget. No, no bags. I'll just get a proper stance and be done with it.

After seeing the twin to my Cougar for the most part, get $3K on ebay, I decided I may as well keep the car. Dead

Filling 26 (!!) trim holes sucks though.

LOL.  Put 22's on it and you lose your BBF rights.  As a matter of fact, if I see 22's on a Ford intermediate, I'm going to get a posse together and swap out whatever is in there for a 307.

I still think you made the right choice even if your hand was forced a little.  Your car will always be different and cool.  (IMO)

Actually, there's a Cougar running around here with 24s Shocked

They fit amazingly, but it looks ridiculous. There will be no 22s, no worries. I am a little bored with the Cragars though. Honestly that car I posted, if the wheels were 20s I'd approve.

Why not try a color shift on the Cragars? Maybe do the centers in a dark chrome like hypercoat?  Tie it in with some of the remaining trim maybe?  I think it could really work out..  (the fit and offset is really great on your car

Paul - Like the color choice. I think that will look really nice. The general color combo was cool in 1978, and is just as cool in 2009. Timeless, and damn cool.

Question - when you were removing the 5000 pieces of trim, did you find much corrosion/rust? Or any other funky stuff for that matter?

The most I found was a quarter sized surface rust spot under the drivers side plastic roof panel. other than that, nothing even worth mentioning. This car is pretty clean.

My old man seems to think I should keep the side trim.

So. I'm debating leaving it.

Without.

What do you all think?

ErmmI still say LTD 2 sport paint.
Ditch the trim.
Ditch the chrome wheels.
Like, ditch them at my house so I have some wheels for the GTS.
Or, at least drop the Elite doors off seeing as how you're nice enough to stop by and drop the rims and tires off for me.
Wink
LOL
Ah, I don't know, the trim -without the trim...I don't know.
What's good is atleast you are moving forward with the beast.

I'd keep the trim unless you're reconsidering ditching the roof..  It breaks up the side of the car nicely..

(Oh, and you could lower the front a tad and then lower the bumper on it's mounts a little to get the nose visually even lower)

Looks good with or with out the side mouldings. Considered trying to fit composite headlamps in the front openings? I'm not even sure how that would look I have yet to master photo shop.
