Drats....I will most likely post pics later when I figure that out here, but I have been running a 15x10 inch rim with 5.5 backspace and Mickey Sportsman Pros that are 29 inch tall and 12.5 wide. Fit is perfect with no issues except one side that I needed to tap the inner wheelwell down since it was angled wrong from the factory and dug into one of my sidewalls. As one poster said earlier, depending on the ballon of your tire, the only issue is where the trailing arm goes into the frame, that spot is where you will have issues with this offset at all. I would bet that you could actually get a 6 inch offset in the rear with the right tire sidewall. This is on a 72 Torino wagon and I will be trying them on a 72 GTS I just purchased later this spring before finding the right rims for that car which will most likely be 18s on rear and 17s on front.

I have a 69 Torino Fastback. I am working with a fabricator for a custom front end suspension. I have the tires and wheels I want to use just need help knowing how wide I can go with them before hitting fender on turns. I've read some general guidelines like .5" to .25" clearance between outside tire edge and inner fender. I do want to try to lower the front end as well. I need some help or suggestions on how much space I need to not rub on turns.

Guys,
I want to run 17X8 Foose Knuckles in the front and 18X9.5 Foose Knuckles in the back. I want larger tires in the back. Does anyone know the best tire size for the front and rear with those wheel sizes? Also, I need to know the offset, which I have no idea on.

40 & 45 series tires, like John is running on his Corvette, are way to low profile for our cars, unless your car is lowered significantly.
On my Montego wagon Fronts are 17x8 w/ 4.5" BS on 235-55 tires Rears are 17x9 w/ 5.25" BS on 275-55 tires |
