I've noticed that, since installing my new rad, no matter what the temperature is outside or how long I've been driving, my temperature gauge never reads more than the bare minimum of the "normal" range. Normally I'd consider that a good thing - the new rad and coolant are obviously working well - but now I'm wondering if it's running too cool?

I didn't touch the thermostat when I changed the rad and fluid, and before I did it read into the low to mid "normal" on a hot day.

The gauge seems to be working because it rises from the bottom stop to "normal' as the car warms up, and after running, turning it off to hot-soak and then restarting, it peaks a bit and then drops back down.

Is this okay, or should I get a new thermostat to turn the heat up a bit?

Which circuit? I've never heard of purging a coolant circuit (so obviously the answer is "no", I didn't :) ).
