Pete,
It's done now......no going back! Have to say though, I'm loving your '71.........although I'm sure you had the reasons to keep the '73! Neil

Tough choice, but like you had said in an earlier post, the 73 turns more heads. Pete, maybe you should have sold some of the stuff behind you in the pix first, like the grill, the basketball hoop, the hanging flower pot, the front lawn, anything.

Heart breaker, but you made the right choice. 70-71's are everywhere compared to 73's..

well it wasnt so much a financial thing, but a space issue too. ever since the wife brought home the
65 falcon its been living outside like a bad cat.
something had to go. the 71 was a decent car, but it needed some bodywork ,that drove me nuts. it got sacrificed. i dont regret it ... yet

It would kill me to sell the 71. I need one of those for my collection. My wife told me there is a difference between wants and needs, so now every car that I want has become a need. I understand the space issue though. It's cool that your wife is into cars.

Even though the performance from the factory was better in the 70-71's, I have always thought the 72-73's are much better looking cars. On top of that they are far more unique. Maybe the 72-73's will never be worth as much as the 70-71's, but at least the 72-73's are starting to gain more interest and value.
I have been there, sometimes you have to sacrafice a car for whatever reason. And even if keep the car that's worth less or is less collectible, if it's the one YOU like more, then it's the right choice. |

well i am trying to encourage the wife into car shows etc, and as long as i can keep her car looking and running nice, she is game for all that. sacrificing the green car also lets me do that.
and most if you know the story of my 73, how long i have had it, and how it was totalled. I think i am doing the right thing sticking with it.
thanks for the support guys!!

You definitely made the right choice! I see a door from another 72-73 in the pic. Is there another one your not telling about?

Pete,
I'm entirely with you on this one. I sold my 1970 Mustang last month at auction (the burgundy one below) and I don't regret it at all. Sometimes you gotta' move stuff out to put the extra bit of love into something else and in this case I think we made the right choices with our 72/73 GTSs. Paul~

Pete,
Thanks for the compliments on the 70. I probably left some money on the table, but in today's economic climate, I squeezed as much out of it as I could get. A lot of decent cars are not bringing any money at all (check out this month's Hemmings Muscle Machine Magazine for Charlotte, North Carolina auction results), so I took the cash and ran. Paul~

Whats done is done, water under the bridge. I hope the next owner is as good an owner as you. I sold my 1968 ltd Q code 428 engine. I regreted it ,but it freed me up . It was used in a movie here I trying to find the picture it was in. Both cars are nice, but the 72-76 torinos are a better all around car .

I think you made a good choice! One thing for sure 72-73's have better lines and nicer gauges.

I know I made the right choice, I sold my 88 mustang GT to buy my 72 GTS. I never looked back with anything but delight over that deal.

The 71 is nice, but I like the '73 much more...even though it is a sport roof! Certainly shouldn't have gone the other way around. If one had to go, you chose wisely IMO.
