Hi,
Been looking for that elusive coolant overflow tank...
Every Single Torino parts car that i have come across so far had none.
My 1975 doesnt have one either... there is just a tube hanging out and draining
on the road. few weeks ago, saw an ad on ebay for a tank that is supposed to fit
the torino, but it sold for like 125$ ... So my question is .. Are you guys aware of
maybe donors cars that would carry a compatible overflow tank, or what did you do about it.
I think it's place would be on the driver side inner fender, by the rad support?
Thank you for any help!
Syl

As far as I know, Gran Torinos did not use a tank. I think overflow tanks started in the 80's. They are required to race at a track in order to keep the track dry. The coolant level is not filled to the top on cars that do not have a tank as the air space prevents overflow. I have used a gear lube quart bottle when necessary.

I use the ones at Shucks Auto (now O'reillys). The $12.95 tank. It works really well.
If you want something smaller, metal, fancier, cooler, Moroso makes one (I bought it for my 71 F-250). Pricey. I just happen to have an unused one (I bought the cheapie for my 71 F-250), sitting on a shelf. It can be yours for rather cheap. |

If you look in to 78-79 T-bird they have one with a bracket that bolts in place. Thats where I found a few of them. They are a direct bolt on.

Tomi, that is an aftermarket piece, not a Ford piece.
