Are the inner fenderwells able to be swapped without removing the fenders? Anything else I should know if I was to pick some up for a swap before I put the new motor in?

I pulled mine out back in 1980 and drove the car for 3 more years. Never pulled the fenders off.

I think its classified as a BRAIN TEASER....Its a tight squeeeze, and be prepaired to have to touch up the fresh paint(that you just sprayed).oh yeah don't forget the band aids! You can do it without bending anything, you just need to angle it correctly while you rotate it into place.makes it alot easier if it on a lift.

Tighten it down until it snaps and then back it off a half turn!

I think it is much easier to do with the fenders off, but if you want to do it (and I have not, I did mine with the fenders attached), I would say look for a part that is parallel to the ground, just behind the front facia. That is gonna hang you up.  The inner fender will look like it should slip between that and the rad mount, but it won't, you need to remove it (mine was held on by a bolt and j clip acting as a nut, not in a hole, just threaded behing the metal. Those nutty 70's auto guys).

If you can get the inner fender to get in place, try and thread the 3 bolts on the front to the rad brace, then try to get the upper 3 bolts in the fender and then the 2 in the back. Don't tighten any of these up as you go, leave them loose so you can move it around.  Then install the fender bolts along the edge, the 3 at the top, the 2 at the back and the 3-4 at the front.

I had a hell of a time and I took the fender off, so good luck !!!
