This may be a dumb question but I have to ask....

I know on GM (and perhaps Chrysler) engines, part of the VIN is stamped into the engine and transmissions making the assembly "matching". Is there such a thing on FOMOCO products?

I need to have my 460 rebuilt/replaced and was thinking of maybe going with the Jasper Class II 460 (385hp/475tq) Performance engine. (Anyone with Jasper Performance engine experience?) If there is a stamping on the block IDing the engine to my car, I'll look into them rebuilding MY engine, but if there is nothing then it's a mute point.

Thanks guys! BTW, here are the Jasper engine specs.....

The Cleveland has part of the Vin stamped on the block just below were the heads mount, left hand side (drivers side), all-most concealed by the gearbox, up against the fire wall.
Might be able to view easily with a mirror, if engine is still in the bay?
Not sure about the other blocks thou sorry.

You can just make it out in this pick

Thanks Ken! My engine is out of the car but still has the tranny attached. I'll see if I can find any markings.....
