**CLICK ON PICS TO ENLARGE AND CLICK AGAIN TO SUPERSIZE** I policed the work area, emptied all my trash cans, got the Torino back up on the jack stands and the tires removed so I could just jump in on Saturday and continue the reassembly.... Edited by TV 2M8O - 29-September-2015 at 3:06AM |

**CLICK ON PICS TO ENLARGE AND CLICK AGAIN TO SUPERSIZE** The platers had my hardware done so I stopped on Friday and picked it all up.... Saturday consisted of rework. I happened to be on the Energy Suspension website week before last and watched a short video about their bushing lube. In the bushing kits I bought, there were small tubes of the lube that I thought were for lubing the bushing joints just prior to final assembly. I noticed during the assembly of the front and rear control arms that when I cycled them thru their range of motion, they made a popping/squeaking noise that I thought the small lube packets would resolve when applied during the final torqueing of the fasteners, but the video said to liberally apply the bushing lube to the entire bushing and sleeve PRIOR to assembly in the bushing shells. So on Saturday, I began the disassembly of the control arms, popping the bushings and sleeves out of the arms, lubing them good and putting it all back together and reinstalling them on the car. MAN, what a world of difference it made with everything lubed up good during the reassembly process... The pieces slid back together with ease and the popping/squeaking noise is gone! Energy Suspension SHOULD recommend the purchase of a small tub of bushing lube with each kit sold... would have made life MUCH EASIER!!!

**CLICK ON PICS TO ENLARGE AND CLICK AGAIN TO SUPERSIZE** Well after taking last weekend off to attend the funeral of a loved one, now all the rear bushings have been removed, lubed and reassembled with the freshly plated hardware... I have one stubborn front upper control arm bushing that will not come out, but I have an idea to try next week to see if I can get it to release before going on to harsher methods! LOL Also got the fuel and brake lines blown out and the rear brake line cleaned and attached to the proportioning valve... My new Spectra fuel tank (made in CANADA) arrived last week, so I unboxed it to inspect and found a few dents in the bottom side. Had they been in the top side, which is hidden from view, I could have lived with them but since they are on the exposed side, I'm having Amazon send me a new one and picking this one back up... Well, until next week..... PS: ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO KEEP THE TANK LOOKING LIKE THIS???

**CLICK ON PICS TO ENLARGE AND CLICK AGAIN TO SUPERSIZE** the replacement fuel tank arrived... tho when I saw the box it came in I had my doubts how straight it was gonna be! Still fighting to get the last control arm bushing back out. Going to go ahead and get another bushing from NAPA to have on hand just in case I need to go postal on the one that's in there now! Also cleaned out the trunk and interior so I can get started cleaning them up for paint.... Next week I hope to get the last control arm bushing popped out and the rear brakes wrapped up....

NO, I meant the trunk area.... then the interior area.... then a few areas to mock up and verify fitment of components (power antenna, Crites header to AC firewall box, etc) THEN OFF TO BODY SHOP FOR FINAL PAINT

**CLICK ON PICS TO ENLARGE AND CLICK AGAIN TO SUPERSIZE** A very productive day for a change!!! I FINALLY got the front control arms reassembled... the bushings reinstalled and the upper arms and spindles hung. I corrected the parking brake cable connections, got the rear brake line hooked up and the rear sway bar hung. I also got the master cylinder, idler arm, pitman arm and tie rod ends outta the paint booth and unmasked.... and installed the retainer arm and cap to the master cylinder. T&T Transmissions dropped of my C6 that they rebuilt and installed a B&M shift kit for me this week.... Next week I'll get it painted and then I'll start attacking the trunk and interior cabin to get them cleaned, prepped and ready for the final finish coat of paint.

**CLICK ON PICS TO ENLARGE AND CLICK AGAIN TO SUPERSIZE** Today I got the steering linkages all assembled and hung onto the chassis.... One area of concern is that idler grease fitting touches the frame right at the travel stop. Is that normal?? I also got started prepping the trunk area.... **CLICK ON PICS TO ENLARGE AND CLICK AGAIN TO SUPERSIZE** A productive LONG weekend! I got the front sway bar installed... followed by the frame reinforcements... ground some of the excessive flash off the transmission... and applied the first coat of aluminum paint... I got the trunk torsion rods removed... To assist in the rod removal, I looped and threaded a length of #16ga wire to the end of the rod finger... and wrapped the two wire leads around my hand and lifted the finger out and away from the bracket and down to relieve the rod pressure. EASY PIESIE!! I also blasted, wire wheeled and painted a few items before starting to dress out the driver side trunk drop off... She's slowly coming together!! **CLICK ON PICS TO ENLARGE AND CLICK AGAIN TO SUPERSIZE**Well not a lot to show for the past two weeks labor, but here are a few of the areas I've been working on and finishing up.....
Got the transmission all buttoned up and awaiting installation (GearVendors OD will come later).... Stainless steel pedal trim all polished up, reattached to rubber pads and wrapped up awaiting installation.... Finished dressing down the excess filler/sealer at driver side rear wheelhouse and trunk drop off.... in preparation to start the daunting task of prepping everything with the DA to get ready for applying the final coat of black to the inside of the body! She is slowly coming together.... Edited by TV 2M8O - 14-December-2015 at 2:07AM |

**CLICK ON PICS TO ENLARGE AND CLICK AGAIN TO SUPERSIZE** More baby steps today... passenger side parking brake cable secured, transmission wrapped awaiting install... master cylinder rehung onto power booster waiting for assembly... rotors cleaned and ready for painting (rear drums also painted and waiting)... fuel door disassembled and blasted... and got started cleaning and prepping the interior for priming (package shelf now ready ready), but sadly the weather has taken a turn for colder temps. Hopefully it will stay warm enough to get the trunk and interior wrapped up over the next couple weeks so I can stay on track.
