There are a few of us here... more than a few, actually. Thought I'd start a dedicated thread.

Here I am, getting groceries, in the grocery getter!

As a previous owner of a few '77-'79's, great call on this. It is so nice to see one of these used as primary transportation like it was in it's day.

That is a good looking car, Wayne, there was a Thunderbird for sale in Arlington TX that color with a blown motor for $1300. It had the white top and white vinyl interior and buckets/console/floorshift and was my kinda car although if it were up to me I'd go black with a red top and red interior with column shift.

Also, I prefer the LTD II front end myself. But that lipstick red color is dead sexy on these 2-door intermediates.

It's too bad the wheels are offset like that. Nice looking car.

Yeah, the offset on the Mustang Pony Wheels doesn't match the car but I found them on CL with almost new tires for $200 so it was hard to pass them up. I'm holding out hope that one day I can find a set of affordable original Magnums in a junk yard somewhere.
I was mainly just fooling around trying to figure out how to upload a picture.
Thanks all.

I sure wish my II had bucket seats. Maybe when I finally find those cheap, junkyard magnums, I can luck into a bucket seat interior in good enough shape to recover.

Dan I love your truck.    It looks amazing in person.    The conversion looks great,  like it was factory. factory.   I hope you can make it down to Carlisle this year I would love to see it again.

I was a day too late or I might have a 78 Ranchero instead of my II.
Are there pictures on here of the conversion ?

That's one of the best looking Rancheros I have ever seen. You must be very proud to drive that around.
I'm looking forward to reading about the building of it.
Happy New Year to all.

Hey Dan, I just finished reading all 56 pages of the Mercury Ranchero build. I have to admit, I was getting worried for you there when the body shop kept the car so long the second time. It's a beautiful car.
Thanks for sharing the link.
