    Posted: 15-July-2012 at 2:43PM
I saved one from the scrap yard this weekend. It is a great car that almost got scrapped. The guy stripped this car and made it into a drag car for his son. His son showed no real interest in the car for 12 years. So the guy put it on craigslist and had no bites so he decided to take the drivetrain out of the car and was gonna sell it for scrap. Luckily I came along and saved this car. Hopfully I will be able to post pics of it soon. I got some with my phone today but the car is very dusty from 12 years of sitting in the garage. This is gonna be my full time drag car.

I can't wait to give it a bath and see what it really looks like. I will post more pics then to show what a jewel this car really is. It was our destinies to cross paths when we did. Any longer and this car would have been in the scrap yard.

Nice save! I really think my 77 LTD II was headed for the scrap yard too, and I'm really glad i had a chance to save it. I hope you like yours as much as I like mine...Smile

It would have been sad for this car to go to the scrap yard. This guy also has a 75 Cougar XR7 that has a 460. It is a really nice car, needs some work but nice still for 1600. He also has some 70,71 Torino fenders and bumpers for sale.

Well I did not get a chance to take pics of the Cougar while I was there. This car did not go over to well with the wife. She hates it.
