Those first two pictures...how often do you see a Chevelle wagon and a Torino wagon in the same shot. Pretty cool.

Also there is a Country Squire and a GM clamshell as well in that first shot. Full and mid Squires and Full and mid GM's. With a Marauder thrown in for good measure!

I love the cyclone spoilers. Grill is made from "unobtainium" though from what I've heard.

My first car was a '77 Vega. I bought it when it was about a year old, and that car is why I learned to work on vehicles. I carried tools and a big tow strap everywhere I went.

I love how Vegas looked, but apparently the original 4 cylinder engines they came with were nightmares.

Yes they were. Aluminum blocks with cast iron heads. Overheating, warping nightmare that drank oil and ticked like a Looney Tunes bomb. GM redesigned the engine in 1975 and declared it fixed, but thousands of owners can dispute that claim. 84 horsepower in 1977, 70 HP before that. I put it on a friend's car lot to sell (after suffering with it for 2 years), bought a '73 Buick Century (drove it for a while then sold it), then had to get back in my unsold Vega and drove it again until someone else wanted it more than me. I mowed lawns/cleaned cars/cleaned garages for years and worked at a golf course to be able to buy that rotten little car. 14 years old (young, dumb and full of ...cash) and I was proudly posing in front of my "gem". Ahh youth...

We had a '73 Century 2 door that was a good car too, along with 2 other Collonnade GM's. Dark red with a white landau roof. Somebody stole our '75 Malibu 4 door, and then we had a '75 Century Free Spirit that was white everywhere with T-Tops.
