I haven't given up yet though. Ilyes (sp?) found his car, so I guess I'm the last car-less one to try to find one...

Many of these cars are part of an estate and when the owner passes away no one is interested in the car/property so it just gets disposed of. My wife is an executor for many of her clients and you would be amazed at what families will throw away because no one wants to do some research or bother to try and sell.

You should take advantage!

I did not have much luck on that white t-bird. I went and looked at it, the "hail damage all over" was about 10 assorted tiny issues. This car was sweet as hell. Being a individual buying in KY you are required to either have a dealer license or use a broker. Most brokers around here charge about 400 plus a percentage of the sale price. This particular car was a nice one, but I am pissed at the principle behind this buying process. I was going to use this in august in Louisville. Oh well. I will just continue on my truck.

Sorry it didn't work out! I had no idea buying a salvage car was such a complicated process until someone asked about one of the posts.

Me either. Maybe it would be cheaper to just get my own dealer license, lol

I thought it had just sat for a very long time, but that could be a possibility.

I have been watching this tread for quite a long time. (like most of us)  I am amazed that the amount of 77-79 t-birds out there that are in very nice to excellent condition. I do like them but not the biggest fan. I really like seeing the 74-76 cougars and 72-76 Montego's. I have a soft spot these as well as w72-76 wagons.

I like all 72-79's but I like the wagons most (figures). I think Joe's observation that the 77-79's were much better built plays into why there are so many in good shape.
