Hello all.
So, I picked this Air cleaner up at some point last year. The car was running like crap in colder weather with the open element, so I picked this dual snorkel one up for peanuts. It's off an 85 Mustang GT. I finally got around to hooking everything up. After a couple trips to a local junkyard, I grabbed enough tubes off various 72-79 Fords, and even an 80 E350. Part #'s are as follows. Passenger Side: D3OF-9A624-AD D3AF-9A624-AA Driver Side: D3OF-9A624-AC E0UE-9A675-AA
Also, I used some Pipe Strapping as brackets for the time being. Pics! This is where it comes out on the Passenger Side: It's not done yet, but I'd say it's 60% done. I need to clean up some things, and secure everything. And get the tube for the Hot Air thingy. I'll post some more pictures tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be done.

I know the E0xx was off a E350 Motorhome. I want to say the others were off various Torinos. I probably should've taken note of what I was yanking these out of.

Here's a better picture. Less glare...
Don't mind the crappy air cleaner lid. I have a brand new chrome one painted the same aluminum color as the current one. Also, this engine bay is WAY to messy for me. I still have alot more work/cleaning/neatening to do. Ugh.

Thanks. Here's a picture from today (not the best) with the new flexible ducts. Part # for those is: Mighty Flow - 96050. Had to hunt these down. Finally found them on Ebay. I think someone is hoarding them. Pre-Heater Hose # is 96024. Dorman/HELP! Once it's completely done, I'll post some better pictures.

That is a truly awesome setup and I will be looking for 83-85 Mustangs and I think the dual snorkel was also used in the 5.0L Fox Body LTD LX models 84-85, so that may be another chance to find them in yards, if a very small one. Here is a guy on CarDomain with one of those cars:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3221993/1984-ford-ltd-lx/ That air cleaner with 5.0 liter EFI HO decal is in one of the pictures. Edited by occupant - 15-June-2013 at 6:52AM |

I've got one of these here thats sitting around. Anyone who wants it can have it if you want to pay the shipping. It was on a car I bought recently and I swapped it out. I would say shipping around $30 due to size. PM me if interested.

How'd you run the vacuum lines for this? I've got an air cleaner, and some lines and some stubs where whomever pulled it just snipped vac lines. What did you go with?

I see you also ran the driver side intake thru where the windshield washer fluid reservoir was. No place else to do it, really. Got my air cleaner off craigslist from a guy who used to live in the neighborhood back in Philly 25 years ago.

I picked up a washer tank off a 96 T-Bird. It fits perfect between the radiator support and header panel. I haven't mounted or hooked it up yet. As for the vacuum lines: there's the 2 vacuum motors. Those get T'd around back.
After looking at that, I think I may have mine hooked up wrong. I know for sure that the vacuum motors are supposed to go to the white connector. Which leads me to believe, the big green port needs a hose running the "Vacuum Tree" as I call it mounted on the fire wall.

Thanks! Will look at mine again. My cleaner was of an EFI motor, so I think it has more ports than that, but those I'll just block off. Carb/EFI didn't seem to matter any, altho I had to slightly tighten up the neck-carb seat area with a couple light hammer taps. Thanks for the washer tank info, I'll scope one out at the u-pull-it.

Mlachance: If I might bother you for a couple pics of how you hooked up the ducting on the drivers side. I have my dual snorkel on; I used the stock air inlet location and tubes on the passenger side and I'd like to see what you did on the driver's side. I will post pics later this afternoon. Many thanks for an ultra cool idea, and your help. This forum rocks! Car definitely runs better than with the 14" x 3" open element cleaner I had on there...
