The guy I bought my '79 xr-7 from has failed to provide the title as promised and has disappeared!   I been told I can get a bonded title.....but it seems pretty involved.........anyone have any other ideas on how I can title it??????  or is the bonded title the only solution?????  help..........

There are always places in teh back of Hot Rod/Rod & Custom, that say "title for any car over 10 years old, $75"

If you have a buddy in a state that doesnt need a title, he could register it there, cancel it next day, then give you the paperwork... creating a title for you.
I had to do this with my Elite some years ago, since I rescued the car from a junkyard.

So, your saying just re-register it.  and get new plates and new title..........
 It already as plates and current registratiion stickers.  they expire this month though..........
 
Can I do that?  the car is already registered in Texas, has plates and stickers????

 Mine was not registered and was 'dormant' in a junkyard for 10 years.
 
I'd get the buddy to cancel the plates then.

sounds like I am stuck with getting a bonded title to transfer the current owner to my name......cuz my car is titled with plates and stickers in Texas.....

I was hoping there was a easier way...........
Thanks 75!!!!!!!!    I'm seein if I can sell it 4 now..........I don't like all the hassle to transfer the title..........

lol. if you were closer, I'd probably buy it. I paid $1500 for one in worse shape from what you are saying.
