Hey guys. I have a question on the correct body stripe placement on a 1969 Mercury Cyclone CJ. Specifically, the vertical portion of the hockey stripe. The Vertical part has 2 pieces to it. Is there supposed to be a gap in the vertical portion? I have seen a small gap, no gap and even overlap of the 2 parts of the vertical section so I am not sure how it is supposed to go. First pic has no gap. Second pic has gap. Third has overlap. What is it supposed to be?

I see a gap on all three pics if I am looking at the vertical part of the hockey stick stripe...

LOL. Yes, I know there is a gap between the stripes themselves. I am referring to the gap WITHIN the stripe itself in the vertical part.Notice the small gap within the stripes that has a thin horizontal line of white paint exposed. I circled the area I am talking about
On this picture the owner left no gap. This guy appears to have overlapped the vertical stripes about 1 or 2 inches.

I had a buddy with 2 of them. Neither had the gap that I can recall.

I can now see what you are referring to. I would think you would want to but them up, with neither a gap nor an overlap.
