    Posted: 19-March-2014 at 12:42PM
I've been reading info on this forum for a good while, but never did post about my car so I suppose I should or I'll never be able to pick up any of the parts I need from the members.  I live between my place just outside of Perry, Georgia and my other place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Originally from Fort Valley, Georgia about 10 miles from the ranch near Perry.

Anyway...my car is a 1972 Gran Torino Sport fastback, the engine is a 1970 429 bored .030 with 460 reciprocating assembly which makes it about a 466 CID now.  Heads have been worked, has a nasty cam, Weiand Stealth intake with a Holley 850 double pumper, Hooker Super Competition headers into 2-1/2" Flowmaster exhaust.  Rear is a 9" Nodular posi with 4:11 gears. Transmission is a built C6 with reverse manual valve body.  It's a factory non-A/C car. Color is the factory dark blue, interior has white buckets & a light blue dash with the factory rally gauges.  Wheels are 14x6 Magnums, although I have a set of 15x7 Magnums to go on the rear sometime in the future.

That's about it for now I guess, I'll add a picture or two when I figure out how after reading the instructions in the forum. Hopefully I'll be able to make four more posts to meet the minimum so I can reply to some parts posts.

Well apparently if I want to post pics of my car I have to take an extra step and join some site called "Photobucket".  Hopefully the description I gave will be enough so that anyone who cares to read the post knows what it looks like.

welcome! sounds cool. as far as posting pics, go to how to post pics- about half way down you'll see the  "tomi method" that's how i do it, sounds complicated but it's not, after you've done it a couple of times it's a piece of cake! that way loads it right to the server.

Marc closed his eyes and thought so hard and long he made a pic appear of a blue Gran Torino!

Nice car if that's yours A1Rod!
Looks like the one in the pic has been slightly lowered?

Thanks for the comments...my Facebook profile is Tony Rod.  The front end hasn't been lowered, it still has the front springs for a 351 so the big block has them a little compressed.  I'll put the correct rate springs in at the same time I replace the bushings & ball joints, would like some springs that will keep it at that ride height up front if somebody makes them that way though.

Hey californiajohnny I just noticed you have a blown 1975 V8 Monza...I had a 1979 Pontiac Sunbird Formula V8 (305 from factory).  It wasn't blown, but after building the engine it surprised a lot of big boy muscle cars on the street!

beautiful car.  and joe is right, your car looks very similar to hoosiermike's car.    he was at the show in louisville this weekend.  if you go look at the pics on the event thread, you will see it.

if you are gonna be in georgia in october, come join us at the moonshine festival.  we would love to meet you in person and lay our eyes on your car!

I wish I could go to Dawsonville in October, going to be beautiful weather up there at that time of the year.  Unfortunately I'm still "commuting" between Fort Lauderdale, Florida and my place near Perry, Georgia where I keep the GTS so chances are pretty slim for making that trip this year.  Whenever I get to move back home permanently I'll be able to do stuff like that again.  When exactly is that event though???
