The panels are not the same on a lincoln, so they are not a direct fit.
The front fenders from a 1974 through 1976 montego, cougar and elite might possibly be a direct fit (i am not 100% sure though). I am not sure if the inner fenders are exactly the same either.
The outer (lower) door skins appear to be very similar, but the tops of the doors appear to be different. I am not sure about the inner door skins. Hopefully one of the other members can tell you more about these things better than me.
I believe that there is a member here had who tried to use the inner door skins from a '74-'76 elite on a '77-'79 cougar, but he said that there might have been some differences.

I know for sure the doors are the same. 77-79 LTDII, Cougar, Ranchero and T-bird. Fenders, Ranchero and Cougar. Every thing except the Hood and header are the same between a regular cougar (Not XR7) and the LTDII.

Anything from 74-76 I'm not sure but very possible. I remember seeing a picture here not long ago of an old montego front end on a new cougar or something like that.

I believe that the doors and fenders from a 1977 through 1979 cougar and thunderbird will fit too, but the thunderbird has some type of vent design on the front fenders, behind the front wheels on both sides of the car, like in arrow in the picture below points to.
You might want to remove them unless you decide to leave them on and install the fenders as is.
Some 77-79 thunderbirds and cougars also have a large front clearance light on the lower front fenders, on both fenders, in front of the front wheels. The arrow in the picture below points to it.

There is a '79 ranchero with a '73 montego mx front end in the picture below.

Doors from a '74-'76 Elite and Cougar are not the same as an LTD II or T Bird.

Many (or maybe all) '77-'79 thunderbirds have a "character line" on the upper fenders, this is also something to consider before purchasing them.

i think the ltdII and tbirds are flatter on the outside than the elite, and the elites don't have the curved body line by the door handle like the torino

Thank You for the information, that is good to know, i can now see how they are different at the top of the door, where the door meets the window. Are there any other differences?

i discovered that while searching for nos quarter panels, and for a door, door was listed as fitting torino elite cougar etc., and something just didn't look right! then it hit me, about the curved body line by the handle!

Inner fenders are same/mostly same and will fit from 73-up. 77-79 doors are all the same (LTD ll, Cougar, Thunderbird, Ranchero) but T-bird and ranchero use different glass. fenders are different before 77. 77-79 cars fenders will fit, but t-bird has the gills and the "line". Ranchero/LTD ll use the same hood as the Elite, and Montego/74-76 Cougar hood will reportedly fit 77-79 t-bird/cougar but the center "ridge" is more pronounced. Mark V body panels are unique to Mark V.
