Hey guys,
What kind of hp numbers have you seen on engines using the 4v closed chambered heads? I'm looking into building either a 408 or 418 stroker motor, and a friend of mine offered me a killer deal on some closed chamber 4v heads and I'm wondering what numbers people have been getting while using those heads. I wanted the extra cubic inches because it'll help a lot on the bottom end. I was also looking at some of the trick flow power port alum heads, but I can get the iron heads for less than half what the trick flows will cost. I know there will be a power difference, but I curious as to whether itdd be worth it. The iron heads have upgraded valves, springs, seats, light porting job, and port stuffers, so they are in really good shape. Id be shooting for 450-500 hp and I'm wondering if that's possible. Any info is appreciated. Andy |

I have pulled 800 HP on my race 351 C before- but it doesn't do you any good without doing the oil system modification's.
You can pull 500 HP at the rear wheels really easy with a few mod's. Don't waste money on porting and polishing the head's. They flow more then you will use with your setup. The only advantage the aftermarket heads have is lighter weight. Greg
