Hello everybody, I'm new to this. I'm restoring a 1972 Gran Torino and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get chrome wheel well mouldings?
Thanks.

Lol, I just bought my car yesterday myself. It came with two sets. They are both decent, I think these are rare. It will be awhile until I get my car in sorts, but let me know if you want me to keep you  in mind. I wil post pics tomorrow man. I know I got two sets and they had small dings but they are definitely good mouldings both sets. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain even decent ones are hard to come by.

WELCOME to the Family!

Which moldings are you looking for?
2 different styles

1st is the "non laser" car style that has the fat lower chrome molding along the lower 1/3 of the car.
MANY of these out there!
These are a 3 piece at the wheel well
1. Fat chrome in front of the wheel well starts up the wheel well
2. Thin trim up and over the wheel well
3. Fat chrome behind the wheel well that also leads UP to the top wheel well piece
 image 1

2nd style is the "laser stripe" car style... single thin piece that goes all the way up, over and down the wheel well opening to the bottom of the fenders/quarters.
THESE are the VERY RARE and hard to find ones!
When you do find them... $$$$$

I need the trim on the wheel wells. I have all the trim on the sides but my wheel trim is pretty banged up.

I just got my 1972 Gran Torino Fastback and I've been looking up information all about it and I can't find how many were made with the 429 4v and power window and power lock options. Do these options make it rare or more valuable?

Welcome Tommy. Post a picture or two here when you get a chance.

I have one spare pair of the front moldings for the 72, full length version. They are the same versions as the red laser fender above has.

1,207 1972 GTS fastbacks came with the N code 429-4V. A Marti Report MIGHT tell you how many N code cars came with PW and PDL, but you'd probably have to buy an Elite one (comes with exact replica of your window sticker too).

Tommy, you say wheel well trim... do you need the full length "laser car" molding(like the red car)
OR the "non-laser" fat trim molding (like the black car)

Black car is 3 piece...
I have some pieces depending on which ones of the 12 pieces you need (3 per wheel well)
You have to specify front or rear, left or right, in front/behind/over the wheel well.

ie... Passenger Side front, behind wheel well
Driver side rear, in front of wheel well
Driver side front, over wheel well

I am only asking for specifics as I ran into this with another member earlier this month trying to get him the piece he wanted/needed.

I've got the front pair available, I will remove them soon to preserve them from were they've been for so long.

I was just wondering if you still wanted to sell that extra set of mouldings that you have. I only need the front passenger and rear driver.
Thanks, Tommy
