About to replace mine in 2002 f-350. anyone that has done it have any tips?

I haven't done them yet on mine, but from what I've read , you need to drain the fuel from the heads(plugs in the rear of the head) and make sure after removing the inj., get all or as much oil out of the cylinder(s) or you could end up with a hydro lock situation. There is some good write-ups in the 7.3 forum@ Fordtruckenthusiasts.com or beansdieselperformance.com. Good luck. I pushing 250,000mi on my '99 & know one day I'm going to be doing this too.

I havent dont mine yet on my 97 im sure its just a matter of time with over 300K. So I dont have much to add other then the possibility of the hydro locking situating if you dont get as much fluid out as possible. I get most of my info and tips form http://www.powerstroke.org/. A lot of good guys on there and info.
