I have a 71 Torino GT convertible with a 351W 2 barrel. I turn the key and get nothing. The top has power but nothing else. No headlights either. I have power to the coil and at the points when I jump it out at the starter solenoid. It cranks but doesn't start. The ignition switch is in bad shape so i am replacing it. Should the car start when its jumped even if ignition switch is no good? Thanks Eric

the ignition switch is what gives power to the coil so if the switch is bad no it won't start
