I have to make a call to the machine shop tomorrow because I ran into an interesting question when I went to order a timing chain. I was going to order the recommended Howard chain set when I noticed that Cloyes made timing chain sets for .010 and.005 align bored blocks. In doing some further reading I've read the standard sets will leave the chain with too much slack.
Has anyone run into this when rebuilding their own Cleveland, and is Cloyes the only ones who have sets for just an occasion?

I suppose now the question is, how to determine if/which you need?
I think I read that you install the std set & measure deflection at one time there was a chart to relate deflection to the correct line bore set
