Transmission & axle codes for 1968 GT Torino 390

Hello-
I need a little bit of help to decipher the codes for my 1968 GT Torino with a 390.
The axle code is - 7.
The transmission code is - U.
The color code is - A.
It has a top loader 4 speed in it now but I have heard that in 1968 the 390 four bbl only was backed with a three speed.
Any information regarding these codes will be greatly appreciated.

Axel code 7 = 3.25:1
Trans code U = C6
Can not help with the color code
