I recently installed a Performer series Edelbrock carb on my
daughters '68 Galaxie 500. .... I know this is a Torino, but my Galaxie is like a poor mans Torino!....LOL.. The car is running a 302 with an auto
transmission. Everything works great, however I have not attached the
tranny kickdown (or downshift) arm yet, as it did not reach the new
carb.Dead

I contacted Edebrock and they tell me I need to purchase three parts:
1483 - Throttle Lever Adapter, 1490 - Throttle Cable Plate Kit and
8011 - A/T Transmission Rod Extension Kit. This seem excessive and
the Edelbrock rep did not seem too sure of his facts!Confused

I have read other posts and they seem to only use the 8011 or the
1483/1490 combo.

I was hoping that someone on this board has done this before and can
tell me what is really correct. It is not the price of buying too
many parts as it is the hassle of knowing which is the correct way
to attack this problem with out a lot of trial and error!Confused

Has anyone out there ever done the same and if so which is the
correct way to connect a stock '68 ford tranny to an Edelbrock
Performer carb mounted on a stock 302?

Thanks
