Just purchased a 1977 Ford LTD II S. I do not know much about these cars but I do know when I was in high school in the late seventies I really wanted one of these rides. Now I have one. I may say something that is incorrect but that is one reason I am here, to discover more about the car. The door tag shows color 3V, DSO 28, body 65D, trim MB, SCH. DATE 27F, axel 1, Trans F, A/C A. just above these codes is the VIN and the digits F0205/R0167.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe I have the door tag translated, 3V is Bright Blue Glow, DSO 28 is Louisville KY, 65D is 2DHT, MB is blue vinyl interior Trans is a FMX , axel is a 2:50 and A indicated it is factory air. The only code I'm sure of is the SCH. DATE 27F and the digits F0205/R0167. If anyone could help with this it would great. The car has a blue interior, full gauge package with tach, tilt steering wheel, engine turned dash ( I think this is correct), power locks and windows, power trunk release and a 351W. I plan on ordering a Marti report in the near future. I'm not new to the car hobby, I have owned a 1969 Firebird, 1967 Chevelle, 1965 Impala SS, 1969 Mustang Sportsroof and currently on a 1989 Mustang 5.0 convertible. I am planning on doing the Hot Rod Power Tour this summer (2016) and will sign up as soon as the dates are released. If you live near Hendersonville TN, give me a shout. I am looking forward to learning as much as possible about my car as I can. Randy

Wow, that is super nice. The engine-turned dash (and right side nameplate molding) has been available since 1975 on the Ralley Cluster cars.
That is a stunning color combination that really pops with the decals. |

NNo buckets, that's what I was looking for but can't be too picky these cars getting harder to find everyday. I would like to have a black or white car with buckets and a console.

I have a set of bucket seats for these cars but they are in rough shape and need to be redone.
Looks like yours has tilt wheel. VERY nice and rare option. |

Looks great. Very clean. Buckets and console can be hard to find in the 77-79 intermediates. I found this 79 Cougar, who's interior I'll be robbing to install in my 79 T-Top Tbird. |

Hi Guys from far west Texas.
Thanks to all the gurus willing to help us out! I have a 1973 Torino Grand Sport that I do like too much. Just had the 351 Cleveland 4Bbl with a cam and higher compression pistons installed. That interior is great. It screams 70's disco era. Would love to have it in my car.

Yeah, I loved it, first time I saw it. It was an option in 77-79 Cougars and T-birds. It would look great in your car, especially with that hint of orange in the upholstery, to match the stripe on your car. Keep an eye out, these 77-79 Cougars and T-birds can be found for cheap. I found my Cougar at one of those Insurance auctions (iaai.com) with the help of some of my friends here on the forum. |

Look at rancheros too, especially 79s. Since it was the end of the line for these cars, ford made some really loaded rancheros to use up parts.
