I browse Copart auctions every so often looking for older cars, and saw this one on there, it's a 71 Ranchero, looks nice, being auctioned in Nashville. Posted on the chance there is some interest for it here.

It has a clean title
Marilyn - '72 Ranchero 500 - known her since I was born, and traveled across the states in her; first in the back, then as the driver. Under restoration (and a little modification)

If you read the Copart listing, it says "normal wear and tear", & it has no estimate for repair.
Probably someone in the system wants to sell their Ranchero, and figures it was a good place to sell (although they are thinking 20k)

Another thing I have seen happen is a family member passes away and no one wants the car or has any idea of it's value or interest in it. It doesn't sell in the estate sale so the family scraps it out.

Maybe it was an insurance theft claim that led this car here, but then I think Copart will sell any car it can get it's hands on, not just limited to salvage/insurance losses.

maybe someone donated the car to the kidney foundation or something.
