The '73 Ranchero came with a bench seat. As I was wondering the wrecking yard, there is this '98 Expedition with these beautiful leather buckets. I used a power track and wire harness from a '78 T-Bird. Adapted the tracks to the seats and bolted them into the car using the original mounting points. The harness from the '78 and the seat from the '98 matched up by colour code except for fore and aft, just had to switch the two. The red console is from another '73. Had to remove arm rests due to console. Looks nice and Christmassy don't you think red and green?

Yes I have a couple of cans of green from Eckler's (Dearborn) not that I am a fan of green, but then I would have to change the name, "The Hulk"..................

Do you have enough room to sit with the high back buckets the rear panel? Were buckets seats were available for 72/73 ranchero's?

Yes, some 72/73 ranchero's came originally from the factory with bucket seats.

high backs were available 72-73, after that, low-backs with headrest.
Those seats measure REAL close to the dimensions of the highbacks, and you get a tiltback on the seats.
Really wonder if covers for a 73 would fit those seats, or foam and covers woulf fit the newer seat frames.

They're pretty similar to the 911 seats I've fitted to mine

They just don't flip forward enough to get behind the seat with anything large. Also have lumbar!

Don't bother with the Ecklers stuff, its junk.  I tried it and it was the worst.  See if you can get something from SEM and follow their process.  Good stuff....

Those are comfy seats. Good to know they will fit with the factory console.

I put seats in from a 4 door, so they also do not flip forward much, but to solve the problem, I put two speaker boxes in the back.  Now there is no room to put anything large behind the seats.

I forgot to mention that for the passenger seat I used the tracks from the bench seat just adapted them to the Expedition seat, shortened the linkage for the fore and aft adjustment and it bolted right into place. The floor board already has the provision for the bucket seats just need to get the bolts, studs, nuts and anchor nuts from any donor car. The carpet is already marked out for the bolts as well.
