Hey guys. I just had an issue pop up without warning or prompting on my part.
I was driving home and the car started to sputter and finally die. I went to check the battery and I have NO power. I tried jumping the car and switched the battery. ZERO power anywhere! Two days later I had some time to work on it and it fired right up immediately? The issue seemed to resolve itself. However it ran for 5 secs - died AGAIN! ZERO power anywhere. Switched batteries and the headlights and interior light came on. I went to start the car and the battery sparked and ZERO lights again! I charged the battery again, no issues with battery. Four days later I put the battery back in and I had interior lights. I went to check the headlights and BAM... ZERO power again??? What the heck is going on? Any ideas? |

Battery cable or cable clamp(if you have replacement cable ends)? I had a replacement cable end, on one of my cables, & after a short time decided to act up one damp night in the middle of nowhere.

Check all your power and grounds . Sounds like you have voltage drop when you put a load on the system . Even if it looks clean , cleaning them may fix it .

I had the end rust off my starter cable right at the starter. Rest of car got power, until I cranked starter and the cable end arced and killed the battery. Couple hours later, I could repeat the process...
