(1)= 2.50-1 gear ratio, if it is a letter it would originally have some type of trac-lok differential. (W)= C4 transmission. Good luck

Never seen a 351m/400 with a C4...
Usually a FMX for the 351M and a C6 for the 400. |

Door code says c4 its a floor shift car had a 351m.Thats all I know.

Floor shift makes ALL the difference in the world.
By 77, floor shift was not available with C6, and FMX floor shift stopped somewhere in the 77-79 era as well. Hence no 400 floor shifts as per Ford in 77 on. (possibly earlier)

Well this is a 351m basic same as 400.Sometimes ford made no seance.

C4 is lighter duty, but has significantly less power "Eaten" by the trans.
C6 is bigger, stronger but "eats" more power. FMX is an older heavy duty design, significantly heavier than a C4. Good enough to be the basis for the AOD, AOD-E transmissions.
