can you begin to imagine how many companies would spring up if there was a shortage of big chevy mounts?

Difference is that the Chevy mounts fit most of the Chevy chassis for a long period of time. The Ford mounts for the Midsize were used for 7 years on one chassis, and for the last two years only on a very few cars. Every chassis has a unique mount. (And every engine family) Yeah, i know, Ford considers the Lincoln Mark IV, V and 72-76 Thunderbird a different Chassis, but it's just a fat, slightly stretched Torino.
