Have the "coffee can" style on a 72 351C. What is the easiest way to physically remove the actual pump and shaft from the housing without tearing up the housing? I realize it's basically just a seal keeping it in there, but I don't want to ruin anything by excessive prying on the housing lip so much it bends. Thanks

i don't remember exactly how i got mine apart but it was easy, make sure you remove the center rear hose fitting as it's holding the housing to the pump, it just unscrews. then the only thing holding the res. housing on is a large o-ring, housing just slides off
