I am planing to relocate the colmn auto shifter to the floor on my 1966 Ranchero, I am thinking the ones used in the Mustangs of the same yr should be the easiest to use but hope one of you has some insight on this.

i'm not sure on the 66 but the newer cars you will need to reconnect the neutral safety switch wires to the one inside the floor shifter, and the linkage lever on the tranny may need to be flipped to work the correct direction for the floor shifter

66 mustang is based on the 65-earlier Falcon, 66 ranchero is based on 66 up falcon, which is pretty much a stubby Fairlane. Don't know if it matters for the shifter, but it might change floor mounting or alignment?
