    Posted: 25-December-2016 at 10:21PM
Hey folks,

I'm not a Torino expert yet and need some clarification on interchange components. I'm working on a customer's 72 GTS Sportsroof that has a few rust issues and I'm thinking about getting a parts car as we need a lot of pieces to resurrect this N code. So here's the question: would someone please fill in the blanks as to what other model(s) can provide parts for this project?

1972 GTS Sportsroof

- doors without glass: Torino coupe/Sportsroof 72-76 (?)
- trunk lid: ?
- trunk hinges: ?
- hood: ?
- front valance: ?
- rear valance: ?

many thanks for the help! J

1972 GTS Sportsroof
- doors without glass: Torino coupe/Sportsroof 72-76 (?)Yes, that is correct. You can also use the doors from any 1972 through 1976 ranchero as well.
- trunk lid: ? From any 1972 through 1976 torino, gran torino and montego from both 2 door and 4 door models.
- trunk hinges: ? From any 1972 through 1976 torino and gran torino both 2 door and 4 door models. And possibly the 1972 through 1976 montegos both 2 door and 4 door models.
- hood: ? From any 1972 ranchero and gran torino both 2 door, 4 door and station wagon models, (not torino). The 1973 through 1976 gran torino and ranchero hoods are different at the front of the hood near the hood latch area. But you might be able to make them fit if you do some metal fabrication work to them.

- rear valance: ? From any 1972 torino and gran torino both 2 door and 4 door models. And possibly 1973 torino and gran torino both 2 door and 4 door models.

Maybe you are correct?.. I have never heard of that before though. Maybe one of the other members will know.

I believe that it is just an optical illusion... I am almost 99% sure that the trunk lids are all the same from 1972 through 1976.
