Finished rewrapping the main wiring harness on the driver side of the engine compartment this weekend and as I was cleaning the bulkhead connector, I noticed that the rubber seal has dried out and is cracked in several spots (see attached). Has anyone been able to repair the rubber? The other connector seal was in excellent condition and still very pliable!
I plan on using some black RTV to reseal the cracked portions and then shoot the engine side of the connector with spray on Plastic-Dip to give the connector a uniform texture. THOUGHTS??

not sure how well the plasti-dip will adhere to the silicone??? i'm thinking black urethane used for windshield adhesion may be better, then plasti-dip

This stuff works much better than silicone and can be found at your local Lowes or HD. Applies easily with a caulking gun, mineral spirits clean up and dries to a rubber like consistency. Just another option for you.
