Replaced heater hoses and heater control valve recently. Out of curiosity, I googled pics and also looked at several engine bays on several FB sites. In regards to inlet/outlet routing, it seems there is no logical pattern to running them on 351C motors. Some have them going from the water pump to the left side of the heater core, some have them coming out of the block and into the left side of the heater core, and then there is every combination after that. Seems like there's no hard and fast rule, other then if you want heat faster, have the inlet come out of the water pump? But which is the inlet and which is the outlet on a heater core...or does it matter? How did it come out of the factory?

Raises more questions then answers. Shoulda never looked on the internet to begin with!

It doesn't matter which of the tube on the heater core your inlet and outlet go to, it's not flow directional.

However, you should have your heater control valve on the inlet hose going to the heater core.

Cool. So the inlet hose should be coming from the water pump....
