Hi all,
Got a question and I hope someone here can answer it, got a 74 gran torino sport. Came with bucket seats , door panels and rear seats with the black with red stripping. The previous owner didnt know where the previous own got them from but he says "sport interior" Well the front two bucket seats need new upholstery but the rest of the interior is good.  My recollection is only gran torinos came with bench seat in the front (my old 74 back in 87 did) and I have been searching the net for this type of seat upholstery but cant find anything. Does anyone have a clue wich year/car had this interior option?

....don't know if this will help or not...scroll about half way down...
The Torinos and mid size Merc's w/ a floor shifter would have been equipped with bucket seats.....mine came out of '77 LTD II ...the same seats as what would have been used in the Torinos

post a picture of what you have. Sounds like you may have an earlier year seats.
If the seats are high-back buckets, they are 72-73. 72 has a hard plastic back, 73 does not. Buckets with separate headrests should be 74 and up.
The Black/red seats should be Gran Torino Sport seats, (assuming the seats are out of a torino).

74 and 75 sports had them black with an inch wide red stripe, there were also tan w/ orange stripe and two tone blue like that the black seems to be more common, but i don't think anyone repops that upholstery, but a upholstery shop should be able to do it!!!
some were a split bench and some were buckets

Custom covers only for the 74- up torino/cougar/Ltd. FYI they won't be cheap.

Try SMS upholstery if you want the exact material.  You'd still have to find someone to make the seat covers though.  These guys have lots of NOS seat material.

SMS is fantastic.  I bought my fabric from them for my 1973 GTO project and it was perfect.

The upholstery in 1974 and 1975 with the Sport seats (bucket and bench) differed a bit. The accent stripe is wider on the '75. These seats were also available in late '73. I had a black '73 GTS with a set and a '75 with the Tan/Orange combo.
