I just bought a 71 Torino 4 door, this is my first ford and oldest car i've ever bought. I come from the K5 community and can't wait to learn more about these cars. Pics will be coming soon it needs a little work the pervious owner kept it in good shape for not driving it in 6 years.

Here are a couple pictures i will upload more tomorrow or Friday. It needs a little work the previous owner gave me a new front clip and hood to put on. The car runs strong and drives just needs a little TLC nothing major interior is almost fully done and body is straight with all good gaps

Looks very nice. I assuming you had a typo in the original post, cause that's a 72.
What's it got under the hood?

November of '71 means it was made early in the production run - 1972 model year cars were being made before the actual year 1972 began. They usually switched around August. My wagon was made in November of 1972 and is a 1973 model, with "3" being the first digit of the VIN. "2" would mean a '72. The second digit tells you which plant your car was made at, the third and fourth together tell you which exact model car you have, the fifth tells you your original engine type, and after that is the sequence number, starting at 100,001 for Fords. There's information available that can tell you what day your particular car was even ordered. Welcome to the site - glad to have you!
