Congrats! Saw that one for sale and he said "motivated seller" I knew someone was going to get a good deal. Thought about making an offer, just too many irons in the fire.

out of curiosity i can't find any documentation confirming any 3 digit trim code in 1972 or 1973, and no 'C' in the 2nd position of any trim code
MA is a 'knitted vinyl bucket option' while 'C' is always a prefix for an 'all vinyl bench option',
are the front seats knitted vinyl and the back seat regular vinyl like a late model Crown Vic service edition?

i'd contact Marti, send them the pic and ask them if / which of their reports will document the 3 digit trim code?

Same here.... this is what i posted on the facebook post last night..

I'll be honest....this one stumps me. There definitely are 3 digit trim codes, but usually you won't find any mention of them unless you look in actual Ford parts fiche. There are two types of 3 digit codes.... ones that have a letter as the last digit, and ones that have a number. MA is black vinyl interior. I have no idea what the "C" is. Trim code MAC is not listed as a code in my Ford parts fiche. As a matter of fact, I only see 3 digit letter codes ending in A or B. I do not even see any, in any car model, that end in C.

Sounds like you need a Marti Report!

I'm curious to find out what it is. What's also interesting is that 2B was a special order color for 72 and special order colors didn't have the code printed on the sticker, yet this car has it. Another member with a 2B 72 said his is blank.

build date 5/72, getting late in the production year and various assy plants might've done things just a little differently also,
how many which plants were building Torinos 5/72 ?

Very nice car, love the 2B red cars with lasers. I haven't seen the three letter trim code either.  If you get a marti please share the results.  Do you have any idea what the interior was originally on the car?  I'd guess black comfortweave (MA)?
Sal, 2B is not a special order color for 1972.  I'd have to check my Marti, but I am pretty sure 2B was quite popular.  In fact the brochure and Ford promos often showed a 2B GTS.

Yup, the Fear is the Key car was 2B red. It had no laser or chrome trim on that car though, which must have been removed by the movie crew for some reason.
