302 Cubic inch 2 barrel carb. Looks like you have air conditioning and manual brakes too.

your three things to look for are air, fuel and spark.

it's pretty safe to assume you have air, as long as your carb isn't filled with crud.

I would recommend testing for spark first. If you have a pacemaker, don't do this, get someone else to do it.

If you have spark, then you need to look at fuel. Try cranking the car while you spray starting fluid (or WD40 etc) into the carb. If the car starts to catch and seems like it wants to start, you have a fuel problem.

Do you know anyone who knows anything about older cars? If you do some supervision might not be a bad idea. Some of the suggestions can have disastrous results.

An appropriate fire extinguisher is never a bad idea.

1st thing i would do is disconnect the fuel line from the fuel pump so you don't contaminate the carb

2nd check for fuel spraying from accel pump nozzles in carb. if no accel pump shot, fill float bowl through the vent and check for accel pump shot again

3rd clean the points with fine grit emery or wet-sand paper & see if it has spark

after you have spark, 1 second shot of starting fluid into carb and crank

whatever you don't start changing settings that should've been correct the last time the car ran

then if the motor pans out get yourself a breaker point conversion module rather than replace the points

you can pour a small amount of gas down the top of the carb and it will run for a couple seconds but i'd check and clean the points!

the concern in priming the engine by fuel down the carb is washing any oil off the cylinder walls

spraying a healthy dose of WD-40 down the open carb while it's cranking isn't a bad idea

the float bowl vents i mentioned earlier are the 2 tubes sticking up near the front of the carb, they lead to the float bowl where the carb stores it's fuel to run through the metering system properly

you'll definitely want to keep your face away from the carb while trying to start it, new & been sitting engines have a tendency to sneeze high velocity atomized gasoline & fire. hard on the eyebrows. worst case you get a shot of gas in the face then a backfire.

Disconnect fuel line.
Drain tank.
Replace points and condenser.
Check for power at coil.
Try some starting fluid.
